I've been here since I was two years old. That's 80 percent of my life! At KLA Academy I can be myself. We have big spaces that we use to learn and be creative. The teachers are gentle and here, we learn from our mistakes.

My favorite subject at KLA Academy is Investigations because we get to research using computers and concentrate on one project. I just love it!

I love doing shows in the theater and going on stage. I like the rooftop and the playground, too.

I feel that KLA Academy is a very unique school. I can express myself and I have a voice in class. Teachers make sure you really understand the work. Plus, the food is great!

KLA Academy gives children the flexibility to approach learning in a way that is appealing and effective for them. Each of our son’s teachers have come to know him so well over the past eight years. KLA Academy was recommended to us by our good friends. We wanted to have our children in a school that had an equal balance across EQ and IQ learning, and an environment that treated each child as an individual and could cater to their needs. In fourth grade, we use problem solving in small groups to get us to bigger answers. There is flexibility, so that many levels of learners and diverse types of personal strengths can be part of the conversation. Students feel safe to ask questions and to share their knowledge where they feel comfortable. This collaboration takes all parts of the group to the next level of learning.

I’ve been at KLA Academy since 2011 and I’ve taught every age group in preschool. Here, individuals feel respected, valued, and part of a community, even as babies or toddlers. Having a background in social work and psychology, I prize our child-centric approach that celebrates the uniqueness of each child, each culture; our belief that our differences make us stronger, and that all are welcome here. I would love to see a world with more learning centers like KLA Academy.

Being a part of students’ growth and development is one of the biggest rewards of being a Physical Education coach. I work hard to extend my love for sports and physical activity to the children. I strive to create an environment in which children enjoy themselves during PE class, while creating strong connections with peers and coaches.

Even though I only attended KLA Academy for one year (my fifth grade), if I were to choose between all of the elementary schools I've been to, I would pick KLA Academy as my best school ever. The teachers were nice and supportive. I just love KLA Academy and I'm jealous that my sisters still go there and I can't because I've graduated! I feel very prepared for middle school. I mean, I'm doing 7th grade math in 6th grade!
