Lower Elementary

In our safe and nurturing environment, your child will make meaningful learning strides in: 

• Language Arts – Students find critical connections with oral and written language as they foster a love and respect for literacy.

• Reading – Kindergarteners develop and strengthen their knowledge of letters, begin to read words, and explore children’s literature independently and in group.

• Writing – Children document their experiences in journals, create their own dictionaries, use technology to communicate and research, and start to write using their own emergent spelling. 

• Math – Children learn number sense, patterns, and measurements through math experiences that incorporate their senses and require them to experiment, make observations, and investigate. 

• Science – Students begin to learn the process of scientific inquiry, explore how the natural world works, and record their observations and theories. 

• Social Studies – Kindergarteners expand their views as they learn more about global issues, community roles and responsibilities, the environment, and different points of view.

Our Kindergarten program is offered from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm. 

Please note students must enroll in our snack & lunch program. 

Our After Care program is available to extend the day length. 

Your child will learn to thrive and excel in the classroom and beyond through:

• Language Arts – In our literacy-rich environment, children begin to view literacy as a useful instrument while they advance their reading and writing skills.
• Reading – First-graders develop stronger comprehension, language skills, phonics, and fluency by listening to stories, working in small groups, writing their own stories, and reading books silently. 
• Writing – Students write to express their ideas and interests in various genres, print clearly, add complexity to their sentences using simple grammar rules, and use technology for writing and research. 
• Math – First-graders begin to connect real-life experiences with mathematical research as they gain an understanding of addition and subtraction strategies, whole number relationships and place value, and measurement.
• Science – Students strengthen their understanding of living and non-living things as they observe, infer, and experiment to develop theories about how the world works. 
• Social Studies – Students gain an introduction to history, geography, culture, and democracy, expanding their understanding of the rights and responsibilities of citizens while learning about other communities around the globe. 

Our First Grade program is offered from 8:00am - 3:00 pm.

As a second-grader, your child will expand their learning experiences in: 

• Language Arts – Second-graders continue to value reading and writing as tools for sharing thoughts, theories, and ideas while they work toward goals and connect with others.
• Reading – Children become more fluent readers, correctly using nouns and verbs, recognizing simple prefixes and suffixes, and identifying simple multi-meaning words.
• Writing – Students become better story writers as they write short narratives, experiment with different voices, and edit and revise their writing. 
• Math – As math concepts become more complex, second-graders learn to add and subtract larger numbers, solve multi-step word problems, measure length, classify geometric shapes, and better understand units of time.  
• Science – Second-graders will use what they know to make predictions and find patterns in the natural world, continuing to expand their knowledge about Earth, its natural resources, and how people use these resources to get energy.
• Social Studies – In second grade, children broaden their knowledge of the world, learning about the people and places of their local communities and regions and comparing them to other communities and regions.

Our Second Grade program is offered from 8:00am - 3:15 pm.
